January 19, 2020
Welcome to Calvary Temple Church. On this the third Sunday of 2020, we are continuing in our series from the book of James, which we're calling "Pressure Points".
As our weekly prayer focus today we are praying for Morrow Gospel Church and Lead Pastor Jacob Friesen along with his wife Arlene. I am so pleased to be highlighting one of our local Shared Funding Partners today. You will see in your program an insert from Union Gospel Mission. Over the years we have partnered in many ways with this inner city mission. It is our hope today that you will sense God’s leading to serve God through the opportunities being made available. Please talk directly to those individuals from Union Gospel Mission in the lobby today.
Presently, there are several Family Business Missions projects in the works. Nelson and Adina Pagunsan are ministering in the Philippines. Ernie Epp is off to Kenya/Tanzania with a small group from MEDA (Mennonite Economic Development Associates). Rosa and Alonso Rosales are off to San Salvador, where Alonso will be ministering on the street, in churches and in prisons. Menno and Pat Sawatsky are leaving this week for Nairobi, Kenya to assist Paul and Lynn Kohls in practical ways on the campus of Pan Africa Christian University. You will be pleased to know that as a church family we sent over $5,500.00 for projects at the University. Menno and Pat want to say thank you for your support. Please pray for Jared Clarke as he travels to Cambodia with our friends from ERDO this week to meet with our newest Shared Funding Partners, Ian & Tiffanie Rowley. There are exciting new opportunities around the corner as it relates to the country of Cambodia. Stay posted!
Alpha begins Wednesday. Be sure to invite someone who is seeking the reality of the truth found in a personal relationship with Jesus. This is a place to journey together with our questions.
Self-explanatory Board Nomination forms are available at The Connecting Point in preparation for our Annual Meeting on February 24th at 6:30 p.m. in the Banquet Hall.
Thank you for your faithfulness, In His service, Pastor Bruce and Miriam
