Weekly What’s Happening from Pastor Bruce Martin
Posted October 16, 2020
Welcome to the Community of Believers known as Calvary Temple Church. Thank you for joining us this Sunday, whether you are here for one of our in-person services, or joining us online. We have live-streaming or in-person Traditional service at 9:00 a.m., and live streaming the Contemporary service at 10:10 a.m. and in-person Contemporary service at 11:30 a.m. with our in-person children’s ministry live streaming at the same time. A reminder that to join us in-person we ask that you register HERE. Registration is open on Thursday to Sunday.
This Sunday I will begin a new series of sermons from the little book of Habakkuk in the Old Testament. I’m calling the series, “When God Doesn’t…” The Prophet Habakkuk wrote in a time of international crisis and national upheaval. In the first sermon in our four part series, we will observe Habakkuk’s vocal complaining and questioning of God, who seems to be silent and unconcerned for His people in their difficult times. There are so many biblical principles to learn from one of God’s Old Testament prophets. Lay it on us Habakkuk, we’re ready for a WORD from God in these challenging times.
I so appreciate everyone’s patience and flexibility as we navigate our way through COVID-19 protocols. Please note that as Winnipeg has been elevated to level orange, it is now a requirement to wear a mask in our buildings. Here is the exact mandate, “Masks are not required if people are seated at least two metres from others… however, people need to wear a mask at all times while moving to or from their seated position within the indoor public place.”
Please remember that our office staff are now back to four days a week, Tuesday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at 400 Hargrave Street. Feel free to pop by during these hours.
After reading the government’s level orange protocols it is deemed that our prayer meeting falls under the guidelines of a service, therefore we will be able to safely pray together Saturdays at 9:00 a.m. in the Buntain Chapel. This is good news!
Here are some things happening regularly here. I remind you about Alpha online, please tell someone who needs to know Jesus. Remember, we are responsible for the invitation and God is responsible for the yes or no.
