from Pastor Bruce Martin

Posted May 13, 2021

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAYWelcome to the Community of Believers known as Calvary Temple Church.  Thank you for joining us exclusively online Sundays at 9:00 a.m. & 10:10 a.m., with our Big City Avenue livestream for kids at 11:30 a.m.  We are so thankful that we are still able to livestream all of our services.  For those unable to join us online, please note this local phone number that you can call to listen to our traditional service live at 9:00 a.m. 204-808-3080.  If you call ahead of time, this system will call you when we go live.  Also, if you miss the live stream, you can call in and listen afterwards to the recording.

Our Saturday Morning Prayer Service will continue online only for the next several weeks.  If you’d like to join us, please e-mail Pastor Cher at cpaulson@ctwinnipeg.com to receive this week’s link and prayer list in your e-mail Friday afternoon. If you would like to call in from a phone, call the church office for directions.

This week we will continue in our sermon series called, “Family Life.”

Our Weekly Prayer Focus this week is Winnipeg Chinese Alliance Church with Pastor Deyi Wei and his wife Angela.  Our Shared Funding Partners this week are Paul & Lynn Kohls.

We heard last week about the opportunity to respond to some needs in India.  Many years ago a hospital was built by Mark & Hulda Buntain in Calcutta.  This hospital is in crisis!  I am simply making you aware of the need they are experiencing in this worldwide pandemic.  ERDO, in Toronto, has a direct channel to get funds quickly to the needs at the hospital.  Also in Chennai we can help Christo and Sarah feed those in crisis. Thank you, no pressure, simply another opportunity to give.  Please clearly mark your designation.

If you are looking for a way to connect through a smaller group here at CT, I invite you to reach out by clicking here.

I’m so encouraged about Alpha.  You will hear such an amazing update in our May Ministry Moment.

Miriam and I continue to enjoy sharing our online Bible Study from our home Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m.  If you haven’t joined us, I encourage you to check it out this Wednesday here.

Thank you for your faithfulness!

In His service,

Isolation. Anxiety. These are familiar words in these difficult times. Yet, they have always been the reality of incarceration, with the effects lingering as the prisoner is released back into society.  Community reintegration can be a daunting and complex task particularly when an individual struggles with mental health issues, addiction, and/or broken relationships. Having poor or no support in place can make this nearly impossible. Prison Fellowship Canada invites you to make a difference by serving an ex-offender with the love of Christ, helping them pursue stability and meaningful faith connections. For more information, watch our video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JfZezd0YKl8 . Contact us if you feel God calling you to serve in this way. The application process is online.

Registration for St. Aidan’s Christian School is now open for September 2021.  For more details and to register please visit http://staidansschool.ca/
